The Warner Media Story

The Warner Media story begins with the birth of the American Film Studio known as Warner Brothers which was founded by four brothers, Harry, Albert, Samuel, and Jack Warner who began their career by showing moving pictures while traveling. After this, they began acquiring movie theatres before moving on to producing their own films, establishing what we now know as Warner Brothers Pictures, Inc., in 1923. Their company was a wild success and was then sold to the Kinney Corporation which was headed by Steven Ross and renamed Warner Communications and started diving into the fields of music, video games, and comic books.

The company then merged with Time Inc. in 1990 to form Time Warner Inc. becoming one of the leading media corporations in the world, producing a deep library of entertainment and managing a plethora of digital sites and household names.

Recruitment process

Internships

Warner Media provides a plethora of internships in various areas from technology, design, distribution, marketing, etc. In order to be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in a college degree program for the full duration of the internship and be able to provide legal proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. 

They have three internship programs, Fall where applications begin from May to June; Spring where applications begin from October to November, and Summer where applications begin from November to January.

Social Contributions

Warner Media played a big role during the Pandemic, taking the initiative to take inventory of their office stock in order to donate a significant amount of personal protection equipment to hospitals, medical centers, and first responders. Donations included 63,000+ face masks, 2600+ pairs of gloves, and boxes of goggles, face shields, booties, coveralls, and respirators. Alongside this, they also donated 3,000+ pounds of food to local food banks.

Warner Media experienced heavy backlash after reports of poor work culture at one of their top shows were reported wherein employees recalled an ineffective human resources department, high turnover rates, and a hostile work environment
