Answer: We don't currently use assessment centres in our recruitment process, but that might change in 2022. We have historically preferred to jump straight to interviews.
If we do use assessment centres this year, we'll probably start with an introduction so you can get to know us and we can get to know you, followed by an ice breaker activity.
The next stage will probably be a large group task. You will do this with some of the other students that you are competing with to get the job. What we're looking for in these group activities is the way that you behave and interact with these other students.
The reason this is important to us is that you can't assess a candidates interaction skills during an interview. We do conduct behavioural based interviews, but this won't help us see how you interaction skills.
If you were to be successful at the assessment centre stage, we'd go straight to an offer, rather than another round of interviews. But to reiterate, we haven't yet decided if we'll use assessment centres in 2022 at GHD.
