Property Development Team Internship – Sydney

What will you be doing in your program

Property Development candidates can apply for one of three streams of our Property Development Intern program. These three streams include Residential Development (Apartments and Masterplanned Communities), Commercial Development and Build to Rent (BTR). You will be asked to rank your preference during the application process.

Outline of Property Development Streams:

Residential Development:
As a Residential Development team intern you will be able to observe and participate in a range of Residential development projects across Sydney. This will include our projects at Coonara, Willoughby, Waterloo, SOPA, Green Square and New Business. This intern role will work closely with the project team which includes Development, Design, Construction, Sales & Marketing and Finance.

Key projects you will assist on include; JV partner/Tenant/Client Negotiation, Design Management, Project Management, Leasing, Project Feasibility, Land Acquisition and Project finalisation and customer service/settlements.

Commercial Development:
As a Commercial Development team intern you will be able to observe and participate in Commercial development projects across Sydney, particularly at our South Eveleigh (ATP) site. This intern role will work closely with the project team which includes Development, Design, Construction, Leasing & Marketing, Finance and Asset Management. You will also have exposure to the wider Mirvac Development team and Tenant teams.

Key projects you will assist on include; JV partner/Tenant/Client Negotiation, Design Management, Project Management, Leasing, Project Feasibility, Land Acquisition and Project finalisation and customer service/settlements.

Build to Rent:
Build to Rent (BTR) is a concept that offers a more secure, affordable and long-term living experience where a purpose-built property is owned by institutional investors and occupied by tenants who are offered secure fixed term leases. The BTR sector is well-established in the US, Europe and Japan and now the UK, where it has gone from a standing start a little over five years ago to number more than 140,000 dwellings in operation or due for completion. The UK market is driven by the same factors creating demand in Australia – housing affordability and demographic and lifestyle change.
Mirvac is developing purpose-built apartment buildings for rental to be held by institutional investors. By doing so Mirvac becomes Australia's first large scale institutional landlord to enter the market under the Built to Rent model.

As a Build to Rent team intern you will be able to observe and participate in a range of Mirvac's Build to Rent (BTR) development projects across Australia. This will include our BTR projects at St Peters and Queen Victoria Market. This intern role will work closely with the Build to Rent team, Multifamily delivery/acquisitions/operations teams as well as our Construction and Design teams.
