Position Objective
The objective of the Cadet Contract Administrator is to perform contract administration and coordination functions of projects efficiently, safely and profitably using the Kane Business Management System (BMS).
Primary responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Cadet Contract Administrator are to:
- Complete delegated tasks from the project plan, specifically in relation to quality, WHS, environmental management, and financial management
- Plan and maintain BMS records for the project
- Project procurement, subcontractor, supplier administration and change management
- Head contract administration including claims
- Coordination and engineering support to the Site Manager
- Project document and correspondence control and filing
- Financial management and reporting on the project
Secondary responsibilities
The secondary responsibilities of the Cadet Contract Administrator are to:
- Attend meetings
- Prepare, review, and submit project deliverables
- Assist the Project Manager and Site Manager in all aspects of the project
- Assist in site inductions, Quality Assurance (QA) audits, and review Safe Work Methos Statements (SWMS)
- Maintain communications with the client and consultants to enhance project outcomes and Kane relationships
Cadet Structure
- The position will serve an initial 6-12 months’ probation period in the head office estimating department and receive direct mentoring, supervision and training from a Senior Estimator
- The position is recognised as a training position
- Following probation, and successful completion of the cadet exam, a full time role will be offered. The position will then transition to a site based role on a live project and provide an opportunity for future leadership roles in the business
- A cadet may work as an “assistant to” and be supervised by an administrator or a Project Manager
